Don’t tell Apple, but there is a huge security hole in their guarding of the /Library folder…
While you generally have to validate yourself for any changes made to that folder, I found that I could “Show Package Contents” on one of my installed plug-ins in the /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components folder, and replace the active binary. No questions asked! hmm…
